In order for the Listing Scan to search for your potential client’s Google Business Profile listings, you must add your Google Places API key to Yext.
To add Google to your Listing Scan:
- Create a Project in the Google Developer Console.
- Log into the Google Developer Console.
- Click Select a project in the upper-left corner. A dialog box appears.
- If you don't see Select a project, click on the project name in the upper-left corner.
- Click NEW PROJECT.
- Enter a Project name.
- If applicable, select an organization, parent organization or folder:
- Select your desired organization from the drop-down menu.
- Click BROWSE. A dialog box appears.
- Select an organization or folder.
- Click SELECT.
- Click CREATE.
- Enable the Places API.
- Make sure the project you just created is in the upper-left corner. If not, click on the project name and select the project you just created.
- Click Library in the sidebar to access the API Library, or click + ENABLE APIS AND SERVICES at the top of the page.
- Search for: Places API.
- Click on the Places API card.
- Click ENABLE.
- If applicable, create a new payment profile.
- If applicable, create a new billing account and set up your billing profile.
- Add credentials to your project.
- Open the navigation menu on the left.
- Hover over API & Services and click Credentials.
- Click + CREATE CREDENTIALS at the top of the page and select API key from the drop-down menu. A dialog box appears.
- Click on the Edit API key link.
- Enter a Name for the key (e.g., Yext API Key).
- Select IP addresses.
- Click ADD.
- Enter the following IP addresses in separate text boxes. Click DONE after adding each IP address. To add a new IP address, click ADD.
- 70.42.219.0/24
- 64.94.163.176/28
- 216.52.179.64/26
- 216.52.128.128/28
- 69.25.87.0/24
- Select Restrict key.
- Click Select APIs, select Places API from the drop-down menu, and click OK.
- Click SAVE.
- Click SHOW KEY. A dialog box appears.
- Click on the Copy API Key icon to obtain your API key.

Add the API key to your Yext account.

Log into your Yext account.
- Partner Portal: Navigate to the Account tab in your portal and skip to step d.
- Click on the Account Details icon (
) in the bottom left corner of the navigation bar and click Account Settings.
- Click Account in the Partner Settings section.
- Click on the Google Places API Key field and enter your API key.

Log into your Yext account.
- (Optional) Increase your quota.
- In the Google Developer Console click on the Manage service accounts link in the bottom-right corner of the Credentials page.
- Click Quotas in the sidebar.
- Select the checkbox in the quota panel to adjust the setting.
- Click EDIT QUOTAS.
- Enter the desired quota limit in the textbox.
- Note: In order to increase the daily quota you must enable billing. For more information, see Google’s Manage your Cloud Billing account article.
- Click DONE.

Click SUBMIT REQUEST.
- For each Listing Scan that you or your clients perform, the scan will generate 4 requests to the Google Places API.
