In order for the Listing Scan to search for your potential client’s Google My Business listings, you must add your Google Places API key to Yext.
To add Google to your Listing Scan:
- Create a Project in the Google Developer Console.
- Log into the Google Developer Console.
- Click Library in the sidebar.
- Click Select a project in the upper-left corner. A dialog box appears.
- If you don't see Select a project, click on the project name in the upper-left corner.
- Click NEW PROJECT.
- Enter a Project name.
- If applicable, select a parent organization or folder:
- Click BROWSE. A dialog box appears.
- Select an organization or folder.
- Click SELECT.
- Click CREATE.
- Enable the Google Places Web Service API.
- Click on the project name in the upper-left corner. A dialog box appears.
- If you don’t see a project name, click Select a project in the upper-left corner.
- Select your project and click OPEN.
- If applicable, click Library in the sidebar to access the API Library, otherwise Search for: Places API.
- Click on the Places API card.
- Click ENABLE.
- Click on the project name in the upper-left corner. A dialog box appears.
- Add credentials to your project.
- Click Credentials in the sidebar.
- Click on the Credentials in APIs & Services link.
- Click + CREATE CREDENTIALS at the top of the page and select API key from the drop-down menu. A dialog box appears.
- Click RESTRICT KEY.
- Enter a Name for the key (e.g., Yext API Key).
- Select IP addresses (web servers, cron jobs, etc.).
- Click ADD AN ITEM.
- Enter the following IP addresses in separate text boxes. Click ADD AN ITEM after adding each IP address to create a new text box.
- 70.42.219.0/24
- 64.94.163.176/28
- 216.52.179.64/26
- 216.52.128.128/28
- Click DONE.
- Select Restrict key.
- Click Select APIs and select Places API from the drop-down menu.
- Click SAVE.
- Obtain your API key.
- Increase your quota.
- Click on the Manage service accounts link in the bottom-right corner.
- Click Quotas in the sidebar.
- Select the checkboxes next to the desired quotas you wish to edit.
- Click EDIT QUOTAS.
- Enter your contact details and click NEXT.
- Enter the desired quota limit in the textbox.
- Note: In order to increase the daily quota you must enable billing. For more information, see Google’s Create, Modify, or Close Your Billing Account article.
- Click SUBMIT REQUEST.
- For each Listing Scan that you or your clients perform, the scan will generate 4 requests to the Google Places API.

- Add the API key to your Yext account.
- Log into your Yext account.
Partner Portal
Navigate to the Account tab in your portal and skip to step d.
- Hover over your name in the top navigation bar and click Account Settings.
- Click Account in the Partner Settings section of the sidebar.
- Click on the Google Places API Key field and enter your API key.
