This guide outlines updates to the reports page for the Winter release! We included normalization to help you get more value out of data that you’re viewing on a folder, state, or country basis. A new metric picker will help you understand more about the metrics you’re choosing at a glance. In addition, you can now filter Reviews by Review Labels.
Metric Picker
To view the metric picker, simply navigate to the "Reports" page and click on either "Add Metric" or "Add Dimension".
You’ll notice a fold-out menu appear, with descriptions for each metric! No need to hover.
Those descriptions (and metric sections) will appear when you search, too, so you can better understand the context around which metric you’re picking.
Filtering by Review Labels
To filter by Reviews Labels, simply select the metrics "New Reviews" or "Average Rating".
You will see the dimension/filter “Review Labels” available for selection.
As a result, the metric you’ve selected will be dimensioned or filtered depending on what you’ve selected.
Normalization
The use case here is to make sure you’re accounting for the number of locations in those folders, states, or countries. For example, if you have 12 locations in New York and only 5 locations in California, you probably would expect to see more "Searches" in New York than in California. Normalization addresses that issues and allows you to make a fair comparison.
To normalize, use the following steps:
1. Choose the metric you desire.
2. Dimension by Folder, Label, Postal Code, State, or Country.
3. Dimension by Months or Months (Retail 4-5-4).
4. Observe the new "Normalize by Location" checkbox that has appeared.
5. Click the checkbox.
6. Observe your normalized data.
