Three new parameters: utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign are now supported in the Partner Scan as part of the Spring '18 Release. UTM parameters are tags added to the end of a URL, usually for tracking purposes. The parameters included in this Release enable you to better track the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns. They will appear in your email confirmation and have been added to the Salesforce and HubSpot Lead Generation apps in the Yext App Directory.
To leverage these parameters, you can append them to the URL you send your clients or in your code. For example, you can include a URL similar to the following in your email blast:
---------------
Hello Prospect,
I invite you to take this scan here: www.scan.example.html?utm_source=email%20blast
Sincerely,
Partner
---------------
You can also iFrame the scan page or the results page with the UTM parameters as follows:
- Scan page:
- Results page:
- https://www.optimizelocation.com/partner/knowledgetagsdemoaccount/listing-report.html?name=tonys%20deli&address=78%20Pine%20Street&phone=2039723403&utm_source=google&utm_medium=email%20blast&utm_campaign=sprint%20sale
In both examples, the UTM parameters are as follows:
- utm_medium: google
- utm_source: email blast
- utm_campaign: spring sale
These parameters are optional and can accept any string. If you are a partner running a marketing campaign, consider using these parameters as trackers. If you use Salesforce or HubSpot as your CRM, you can map these parameters to fields on your lead objects, allowing the values to flow through to your CRM whenever someone scans their business.
