Conversion Tracking enables you to track the clicks and conversions that can be attributed to your Listings, Pages, and Search experiences. When setting up Conversion Tracking, you can determine which customer actions constitute a conversion. Whether that is placing an order, booking an appointment, or clicking for driving directions. This article walks you through the steps to create a Conversion Action.
There are two ways to trigger conversion events:
- Clicks: When you choose Clicks, you can automatically count a Conversion whenever certain Clicks occur. For example, you can consider every Driving Directions Click to be a Conversion, or every Mobile Click-to-Call.
- Tags: When you choose Tag, you can count a Conversion anywhere you are able to install the corresponding Javascript tag (including non-Yext powered pages). These Conversions are attributed to Clicks that occurred earlier in the customer journey on Listings, Yext Pages, Search, and Knowledge Tags.
To create a Conversion Action:
- Click Analytics in the navigation bar and click Conversion Tracking.
- Click Conversion Actions.
- Click on the + Add Conversion Action button.
- Enter the name for the conversion you would like to track.
- Select the type of action you would like to track.
- Select how you would like to trigger conversion events, and follow the steps based on the option you select.

- Linear: This divides the credit evenly among all clicks that took place in the conversion window.
- Last Click: This attributes 100% of the credit on the last click before conversion.
- First Click: This attributes 100% of the credit on the first click a user had within the attribution window.
- Read the terms and select the checkbox to acknowledge the behavior of Conversion Tracking.
