There are two different types of reviews, third-party and first-party reviews.
- Third-Party Reviews: User reviews written on publishers such as Google, Facebook, or Yelp.
- First-Party Reviews: User reviews collected by a business, rather than left on a publisher.
Yext does not support the ability to delete third-party. If you would like to delete third-party reviews, you will need to reach out to the corresponding publisher directly.
However, you have the ability to manage the settings for the behavior of third-party reviews that are deleted from a publisher. By default, a third-party review that is deleted from a publisher will remain in the platform and be marked as ‘Removed’. You can select whether you want to remove these reviews from the platform altogether or keep them with the corresponding ‘Removed’ status.
Based on your permissions, you can either remove first-party reviews or flag them to be removed by Yext. See Remove First-Party Reviews and Flag First-Party Reviews, respectively.
To adjust the settings for deleted reviews behavior:
- Click on the Account Details icon () in the bottom left corner of the navigation bar and click Account Settings.
- Click Compliance.
- Select your desired option in the Removed Review Behavior section.
-
Click Save.
- Note: If you selected to have removed reviews deleted from the platform, a dialog box will appear. Click Delete Removed Reviews to save this as your default behavior.
For more information about removing a review on Google, see Remove reviews from your Business Profile on Google. If the review removal is rejected, but the review still goes against Google's content policies, reach out to Yext Support for further assistance.
