In order for Yext to send email on your behalf, you must add CNAME (Canonical Name) records to your DNS server that gives Yext domain-level email authorization.

This article will walk you through the process of adding an email domain in the Yext platform, retrieving the hosting information for the domain, and making sure that it is configured correctly within your email provider. To add an email domain:

1. Click on the Account Details icon () in the bottom left corner of the navigation bar and click Account Settings.
2. Click Email Branding.
3. Click on the + Add an Email Domain button. A dialog box appears.
4. Enter your desired email domain in the text box and click Submit.
5. Copy the information in the Host and Value columns to set up a CNAME record in your DNS server in order to give Yext domain-level email authorization. See detailed instructions on how to add a CNAME record to different DNS providers below.
6. Click Close after you copied the relevant information.
   • To access the CNAME records again later, navigate back to Email Branding and you will see the added domains in the Domains table.
7. Once the CNAME record has been created and Yext is authorized to send emails from your domain navigate back to Email Branding to customize your email settings.
   1. Click on the From Name field and enter the desired display name. Click Save.
   2. Click on the From Email and click on the yext.com dropdown and select the desired email domain. Then click Save.
      • Note, you cannot edit the email domain until a CNAME record has been created in your email provider.

To create a CNAME record:

For the following steps, we recommend looping in your IT Team or system administrator, as they will usually help you create a CNAME record.

1. Log into your domain registrar and locate the DNS or advanced DNS settings to edit your domain's DNS settings and add each of the CNAME records.
2. Add each of the CNAME records by pasting in the Host and Value information you copied from the Yext platform.
