Review Generation settings control how invitations are sent, how frequently customers are contacted, and how first-party reviews are handled before they are published. Navigate to Reviews > Generation > Settings to access all settings described in this article.
Target Distribution of Reviews by Site
The review balancing algorithm determines which publisher a customer is directed to when they click the review link in an invitation. Set the target distribution to specify how reviews should be split across publishers.
To configure the algorithm:
- In the Target Distribution of Reviews by Site section, click to make edits.
- Click + Add Site and select a publisher. You can add up to 10 sites.
- For each site, select a weight from 1 to 9. The chart shows the resulting percentage distribution.
- Click Save.
Algorithm Settings
The Algorithm Settings section lets you customize how the review balancing algorithm sends individual users to meet your target distribution, and optionally override the algorithm based on specific priorities.
Configure Algorithm lets you add problems for the algorithm to address. None are added by default, which uses the algorithm as-is. Available options:
- Your Website: generate more first-party reviews when a one-star review is visible within the last five reviews on your website
- Rating: focus on publishers that have a rating significantly below the location average
- Recency: ensure each selected publisher has at least one review within the last month
Balancing Algorithm lets you choose what the algorithm optimizes for:
- Optimize for reaching the target weighting distribution (default)
- Optimize for more reviews by sending users to publishers they are logged into
- Optimize for reaching the target weighting distribution, but only send users to publishers they are logged into
