Suggestions allow users in your Yext account and external publisher sources to propose edits to entity content. Suggested edits are held for review before being applied, so no changes go live until approved.
Suggestions are great when you want to empower more people to contribute content while maintaining oversight. Common use cases include:
- Professionals — Give doctors, financial advisors, or insurance agents access to personalize their own profiles without directly editing entity data
- Compliance-heavy industries — Require review before any content changes are applied in healthcare or financial services
- Local photos — Crowdsource storefront or event photos from local teams
When a suggested edit is created, it enters the Suggestions system while it waits for review. Until it is actually approved, the edit is not applied to the entity and it is not published anywhere publicly.
A user can take action on suggestions for any fields or entities that they have permission to edit, as long as the suggestion is Unassigned or is assigned to a User Group that the user is a part of.
