You can export reviews from Yext as a file for use in external systems, or share individual reviews by email or social post. For ongoing automated exports, you can set up a scheduled export delivered to an SFTP destination.
Export Reviews Manually
To export reviews as a one-time download:
- Navigate to Reviews > Monitoring.
- (Optional) Apply filters to narrow the reviews you want to export. If no reviews are selected, all reviews in the current view are exported.
- Select the checkboxes for the reviews you want to export, or leave all unselected to export the full filtered set.
- In the actions bar, click the Export icon.
- Select your preferred file format and click Export. The file downloads automatically.
Note: Yelp reviews are not included in exports.
Create a Scheduled Export
Scheduled exports automatically deliver a file of reviews to an SFTP destination at a frequency you choose. This is useful for feeding review data into external BI tools, analytics platforms, or compliance reporting systems. Scheduled exports support up to one million reviews per file.
To create a scheduled export:
- Navigate to Reviews > Monitoring.
- (Optional) Apply any filters you want the export to use.
- Click the Settings icon dropdown and select Create Saved Export.
- Enter a name for the saved export.
- Enter your SFTP server details:
- Host address: enter the address without the protocol (sftp://)
- Port: enter the port to connect to. The default port for SFTP is 22.
- Username and Password: enter your credentials
- Enter the folder path for delivery.
- Select a Delivery Option:
- Rename File Upon Transfer Completion: the file is sent as a temporary .tmp file and renamed when the transfer is complete
- Send 'Done' File Upon Transfer Completion: Yext sends a separate file with a .done extension when the transfer is complete
- Transfer the File: the file is transferred with no completion indicator
- Set the Frequency: Hourly, Daily, Weekly, Biweekly, or Monthly.
- Select a start date, time, and time zone for the first delivery.
- Set Ignore Empty File to Yes if you want to skip delivery when no reviews match your filters for that period, or No to deliver an empty file on schedule.
- Click Save.
Exported files are named using the format: (Export Configuration Name)-(Date YYYY-MM-DD)-(Timestamp in milliseconds). For example, a saved export called "Restaurant Reviews" exported on April 7, 2025 at 10:52 AM Eastern would be named: restaurant-reviews-20250407-1744037536284.csv.
