This article explains how Reseller accounts can launch Listings on Google for a client with a single location.

Direct Yext clients can launch Listings by following the Launch Your Listings in Yext guide on Hitchhikers.

 

Step 1: Link Google Account

1. Click Listings in the navigation bar and click All Listings.
2. Click on the Set up button next to the business you want to set up on Google. This will open a new page with the setup flow.
3. Click on the + Linked Account button. A pop-up window appears requesting a link between Google and Yext. Follow the instructions in the pop-up window to complete. The new linked account will now be displayed in the table. Click Continue.
   • If you need to add an additional linked account:
     1. Click + Add Account. A pop-up window appears requesting a link between Google and Yext. Follow the instructions in the pop-up window to complete.
     2. Select the correct linked account for the list and click Continue.
   • If the correct account is already linked, proceed to the next section.

 

Step 2: Match to an Existing Listing or Create a New Listing

1. Click on the Select Location Group dropdown and select the location group that this location is in in GBP. 
2. Once you select the location group, you will see all of the potential matches that we have identified.
3. Follow the relevant steps below based on the scenario of your listing and the matches we have identified.

Selecting from an identified match:

Listings that are already verified will be marked with a green checkmark (as depicted below). Listings that are not verified will not display a green checkmark. 

If the listing you selected is verified you will be redirected to a summary page, as you have completed this process. We recommend navigating back to the All Listings page to check the status of the listing.

If the listing you selected is not verified, proceed to Step 3: Verify your Google Listing below to complete the verification process.

 

If you don't have a listing for this location, and need to create one:

1. Click on the Create a New Listing tile, then click Save. A dialog box appears. Click Confirm to complete the setup process.
2. The process of creating a new listing can take a couple of days. Once the listing is created, you can begin the verification process. Follow the steps in the How to Verify Your Google Business Profile listing to complete the verification process.

 

If you don't see the right match, but you know one exists:

If you know a listing already exists on Google for the location you're setting up, you can enter the Google Store Code for that location. We will then use that code to search for the listing.

1. Click on the Search Using a Store Code tile.
   • Store Codes are an identifier used by Google Business Profile for a given location. Store Codes can be located in the Advanced settings section of your Google Business Profile account. For steps to access your Store ID, follow these steps in the Add store codes section of Google's help article. 
2. Once you enter the store code wait a few seconds, as our system is validating the store code. 
3. Once the Store Code is validated, click Continue.
4. If the location is verified, click Continue. Otherwise, proceed to the verification steps below.

 

Step 3: Verify Your Google Listing

On the verification page, you will be presented with the available verification options.Verification methods can differ by location, and the available options are determined by Google.

If you are ready to complete the verification process, select the desired option based on your available options. All potential options are listed below:

• Email
  • Your verification code will be sent to the email address listed in the platform. 
• Text Message
  • Your verification code will be sent via text message to the phone number on the listing.
• Phone Call
  • You will receive a phone call with your verification code at the business phone number on your listing.
• Video
  • You can verify your business with a video upload that captures key details of your location.
  • Video verification must be completed in Google Business Profile. Click Launch to open the video verification page in Google. Once you have completed the video verification steps in Google Business Profile, navigate back to the page in Yext and click Save.

If you are not ready to complete verification:

1. Click on the Skip Verification link. Then click Save. This will redirect you to the summary screen. 
2. When you're ready, follow the steps in the How to Verify Your Google Business Profile Listing help article to complete this process.
