Event listings have a different launch process than other types of listings. Since they only exist for a temporary period of time and are not synced with publishers long-term, the setup process is quicker.
Launch Event Listings
Step 1: Link Your Publisher Accounts
Some event publishers (including Facebook and Eventbrite) require a linked account in order to publish event listings. If you want to use these publishers, link your accounts first.
To manage your linked accounts:
- Click the Account Settings icon in the lower left corner of the navigation bar.
- Select the Linked Accounts tile.
- Link an account using the Linked Accounts process.
Step 2: Launch Events
-
Navigate to Knowledge Graph > Entities and select the Event entity or entities you want to launch.
- To launch a single event, click on the entity to open the Entity Edit view.
- To launch multiple events, select the checkboxes next to all the entities you want to launch, click the More Actions dropdown, and select Edit.
- In the Entity Edit view, scroll down to the Licenses section on the right side of the entity.
-
Click Assign More Licenses.
-
Select the checkbox next to the Event Listings license pack and click Continue.
-
Click Submit on the Summary page.
-
After assigning your licenses, navigate to Listings > Events to see your event listings start to populate.
Manage Event Listings
Once event listings are live, you can filter them, export them, and create notifications from the Listings > Events page.
Filter Event Listings
Click the filter pills at the top of the Events screen to filter by:
- All Entities: choose the Event entities you want to see listings for
- All Sites: choose the publisher sites you want to see listings for
-
Active: filter by when events take place
- Active: events that have not yet taken place
- Past: events that have already taken place
- All Time: all events regardless of timeframe
- Custom: events in a specific date range
- Statuses: choose the event statuses you want to see.
- Issues: see event listings affected by a specific sync issue.
Export Event Listings
- From the Events screen, select the checkboxes to the left of the listings you want to export.
-
Click the Select Action dropdown at the top of the screen and select Export.
Create a Listings Notification
- Select the checkboxes to the left of the listings you want to set a notification for.
-
Click the bell icon dropdown at the top of the screen and select Create New Notification.
-
In the modal that appears, set your preferences for the notification.
For more on creating Listings notifications, see Create Listings Notifications.
After the Event: Remove Licenses or Delete Listings
After an event has passed, Yext will automatically remove the Event Listings license from the entity seven days after the event end date. Once removed, the listing will no longer sync to publishers, but it may still be viewable on the publisher site.
You do not need to take any action for licenses to be automatically removed. However, you can act sooner if needed.
Remove an Event Listing's License Early
From the Entity
- Navigate to Knowledge Graph > Entities and find the Event entity.
- For multiple entities: select the checkboxes next to the entities, click More Actions, and select Edit.
-
In the Entity Edit view, scroll to the Licenses section on the right side. Hover and click Remove next to the license name.
-
In the Unassign Licenses flow, choose to unassign immediately or at a later date, then click Continue.
-
Click Submit on the Summary page.
From the Events Page
- Navigate to Listings > Events.
- Select the checkbox to the left of the listing or listings.
-
Click the Select Action dropdown and select Remove Feature.
Delete an Event Listing
Deleting an event listing removes the Event Listings license from the entity and stops the listing from syncing to publishers. When possible, it also removes the listing from the publisher site.
Note: Not all publishers support the delete functionality. For publishers that do not support event deletion, the license will still be removed and the listing will stop syncing, but the listing may still be visible on the publisher site.
Delete a Single Event
- Navigate to Listings > Events.
- Click the arrow next to the View Listing button on the right side of a listing to open a dropdown.
-
Select Delete Listing.
Delete Multiple Events
- Navigate to Listings > Events.
- Select the checkboxes to the left of the listings you want to delete.
-
Click the Select Action dropdown and select Delete.
