This article details how to a to set up entity relationships in the Knowledge Graph for Bing location listings. For steps on how to set up entity relationships for Bing listings, see Set Up Google Entity Relationships.
Bing listings can be associated with a parent-child relationship by entering the name of the parent location on the child entity in the Knowledge Graph. This will populate the At field on Bing Maps cards.
Types of Relationships
Yext supports three Bing entity relationship models:
- Department Of: The child entity is a separate division within a larger parent location (e.g., a pharmacy inside a grocery store), and both the department and parent location belong to the same brand or chain. The department may also display its own hours.
- Located In: The child location is located within the parent location, but is a different brand or business than the parent location.
-
Works At: The child entity is an individual worker or practitioner operating under one parent company or location (e.g., an accountant at a wealth management firm, a doctor at a hospital, etc). Each professional may have different hours of operation or contact information.
- Note: This relationship type should not be used when only one professional works at the parent location. In this case, the Name field on the individual professional’s entity should be the name of the parent location. This type of relationship will not be displayed on the listing, but is still very important in order to maintain data quality with Bing.
Requirements
In order for Bing listings to be linked with entity relationships, each location must meet these requirements:
- Each location must have a physical address or specified service area
- Both the child and parent entities need to be owned within the same Yext account. You cannot set up Bing entity relationships in Yext for businesses that have different ownership.
For a detailed breakdown of requirements and expected use cases, see Supported business relationships in the Bing help center.
