If you are a service-area business or a business that does not have a brick-and-mortar location, you can add service areas to your entities to designate the specific areas you provide services to. Note that service areas are only used by Google and Bing.
When creating entities in Yext, a street address is required. However, for businesses that do not have a brick-and-mortar location, you also have the option to hide the Address field on Google and Bing listings. This means the listings on Google and Bing will not display a specific street address, but the location will appear on the map and in relevant searches based on the city and state for your service area.
Note that some publishers do not accept listings with hidden addresses. Listings on these publishers with hidden addresses will be marked as Not Synced in Yext.

- Click Knowledge Graph in the navigation bar and click Entities.
- Click on the entity you would like to edit.
- Click on the Address field.
- To add a service area, select the checkbox next to We deliver or provide service at customer locations.
- Click Add Service Area.
- Choose the type of service area you would like to add from the dropdown menu.
- If you are using the City or County service area, it's recommended to also specify the state. For example: "Springfield, IL" is more specific than just "Springfield".
- Bing only accepts City service areas and does not support service areas outside the United States.
- Enter the appropriate service area information.
- Repeat steps 5-7 to add more service areas to the location.
- Google accepts a maximum of 20 service areas for an individual location.
- If the entity or entities do not have a brick-and-mortar location, select the checkbox next to Hide address in listing.
- Click Save.
