Note: Google deprecated its Q&A API on November 3, 2025. The Q&A screen in Yext is now read-only. You can view existing Q&A data and export it, but you can no longer post or respond to questions through Yext. To manage Google Q&A going forward, use Google Business Profile directly. We recommend exporting your Q&A data before it becomes unavailable.
Overview
Google Q&A is a feature on Google Business Profile listings that allows anyone — customers or the business owner — to ask and answer questions directly on the listing. Questions and answers appear on Google Search and Maps.
Before the deprecation, Yext pulled in all questions from your listings so you could monitor and respond from a single platform. Owner answers posted through Yext were labeled "From the Business" on Google to distinguish them from user-submitted answers.
Export Your Q&A Data
To export your existing Q&A data before it becomes unavailable:
- Navigate to Reviews > Q&A.
- Use the filters to select the questions you want to export.
- Click More Actions and select Export.
View Existing Q&A Data
You can still view and filter your existing Q&A data in Reviews > Q&A. Filter by content, entity, date, site, or other criteria to find specific questions. You can also filter to see questions that do not yet have an owner answer.
To manage Q&A going forward, log in to your Google Business Profile directly.
Q&A Labels
Q&A labels help you categorize and organize questions in your account. More than one label can be applied to a question. Q&A labels can still be viewed but can no longer be applied to new questions through Yext.
To apply a label to a single question:
- Navigate to Reviews > Q&A.
- Click Details or Answers next to the question you want to label.
- Click + Add Label.
- Click into the label field and select from the list, or type a new label name followed by a comma to create and apply it.
- Click Save.
To apply labels to multiple questions at once:
- Select the checkboxes next to the questions you want to label.
- Click More Actions and select Apply Labels to Q&A.
- Click into the label field and select the labels to apply. You can also create a new label by typing a name followed by a comma.
- Click Submit.
If the selected questions already have labels, a confirmation dialog appears noting that the new labels will replace any existing ones. Click Overwrite to confirm.
To rename or delete a label:
- Navigate to Reviews > Q&A.
- Click More Actions and select Manage Labels.
- Click the three dots to the right of the label you want to update.
- Select Rename or Delete.
