This article explains what happens to business listings and information after someone has elected to opt out a listing or to not renew their Yext Listings subscription.
When a listing is opted out or subscription is cancelled
When a listing is no longer managed by Yext, either by opting out a single listing or cancelling a whole subscription, Yext immediately stops sending data to publishers. For some publishers, we make one final API call to tell them the listings are no longer managed through Yext and send a final data snapshot.
When this happens, the publisher will:
- Stop sending Yext analytics for these listings
- Remove the “Owner Verified” attribution logo
- Allow a service other than Yext to manage the listings
We never send old data or attempt to revert listings.
How listing data may appear moving forward
Publishers can continue to use all data that has already been received from Yext, even after cancellation. However, this does not guarantee that publishers will continue using that content. The decision about what data or content to display after Yext is removed from the equation will always remain up to the publisher itself.
In the absence of Yext or another provider with API integrations actively managing a listing, data for each listing may change over time as the publisher relies more heavily on other non-direct sources. These can include data aggregators and crowdsourced or user-generated content.
Since each publisher takes a different approach, this will happen at a varied pace and could lead to a disparity of data from publisher to publisher.
