AI Performance page brings together a set of metrics that measure the success of your brand within AI-generated search results. It gives you one place to understand, measure, and improve how your brand shows up across AI search experiences by bringing rankings, sentiment, and citations together into a single view. Scout analyzes data from ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Claude, and Perplexity.
These AI Performance metrics are available both in detail on the AI Performance page and as part of the overall Performance Summary and Win Rate calculations on the Scout Home page.
The AI Performance page is available only to customers with a paid Scout subscription.
On this page, there are four tabs at the top of the page that allow you to drill into specific views of your AI performance: Overview, Competitive Performance, Sentiment Analysis, and Citations.
You can also filter all of these pages by AI model, Locations, and Keywords, and timeframe (1 month, 3 months, 6 months) to further customize your view of the data.
What you can answer on this page:
- How am I performing in AI search?
- How do I compare against competitors?
- What are AI models saying about my brand?
- Why am I appearing in AI-generated answers?
Overview
On the Overview page, you can see a summary banner showing how many prompts and AI models Scout ran queries against, across how many locations, alongside your total unique AI searches.
- AI Win Rate: the percentage of AI searches where you ranked above competitors, with a trend indicator and recent-movement chart.
- AI Rank Distribution: shows what share of locations fall into Top 3 or 4–10. AI rank only tracks the top 10 results, so there's no long tail of buckets like on the Google side.
- Preview tiles link out to Brand Sentiment and Citations, covered in their own tabs below.
- Performance by AI Model: a roll-up of performance across win rate, citations, and overall sentiment by each AI model.
Competitive Performance
On the Competitive Performance page, you can see your average AI Rank, AI Win Rate, a "top competitive threat" callout, an AI Rank Over Time chart, and a competitor leaderboard. A lower score means higher rankings. A summary callout names your top competitive threat and how their position has moved. Below that:
- AI Rank Over Time: a line chart comparing your AI rank against a competitor over the selected range. Your AI rank shows your brand’s average rank in AI search results for queries for the selected locations. A lower rank means you’re ranking higher in search results.
- Competitor table: ranks each competitor by average AI Rank, with the change since the last period.
Sentiment Analysis
On the Sentiment Analysis page, you can see how often AI models refer to your brand positively, neutrally, or negatively for the selected locations when answering user queries. For example, a higher percentage of positive sentiment suggests the AI model found a lot of favorable opinions about your brand online and has learned that your brand reputation is generally positive. You can filter by Prompt Type (Branded/Unbranded) and Question Type (Objective/Subjective).
- Positive / Neutral / Negative Sentiment cards, each with a trend indicator and a plain-language explanation of what the number means.
- AI Sentiment Over Time: a trend chart across the selected range.
- Sentiment by AI Model Snapshot: a breakdown card per AI model showing its own positive/neutral/negative split and mention count.

You can also view an AI-analyzed summary of recurring themes across model responses to understand what's driving positive and negative sentiment about your brand.
Citations
On the Citations page, you can see which websites AI models cite when answering questions about your brand, and which sources drive the most visibility. This data can provide insight into where you might need more or better information related to your brand. Filter by Prompt Type and Question Type, or search for a specific domain.
- Each citation type (for example, "Branded Subjective Citations") shows a count, a trend, a plain-language explanation of why that citation type matters, and a real example prompt.
- A source breakdown view shows the split across Your Websites, Listings, Reviews & Social, and News/Forums/Other.
