The Pages library is Yext's collection of sections, templates, and editor features. Yext continuously updates the library with new sections, improvements to existing sections, and editor enhancements. Library updates are opt-in and per-site — you control when to adopt them.
Updating the library only changes what's available to you in the editor. It does not affect your live pages until you publish. This lets you review and test updates before committing to them.
Update to the Latest Version
When a library update is available, an Update Library icon appears in the layout editor toolbar. To update:
- Open the layout editor for the site and page group you want to update.
- Click the Update Library icon.
- A change log appears, listing all updates between your current version and the latest. Review the changes to confirm you want them.
- Click Update Now.
The site redeploys to bring in the library updates. Deployments may take a few minutes. After redeployment, the new sections and changes are available in the editor. Review your layout and publish when you're ready to push updates live.
Select a Specific Version
If you need to roll back to a previous version (for example, after an update introduced changes you don't want) or move to a specific version that isn't the latest, you can set the version manually.
To select a specific library version:
- Navigate to Pages > [Your Site] > Developer Hub.
- Click View under Advanced Configuration.
- Find the Library Version Control setting. The current version is displayed.
- Select the desired version from the dropdown.
The site redeploys to update to that version. Deployments may take a few minutes.
Note: Rolling back the library version may affect sections or properties that were added in newer versions. Review your layout after rolling back to check for any missing or changed sections.
