Review Monitoring
The number and length of reviews you can monitor from Yelp depend on the size and type of your business.
SMB and Partner
Only the 3 most relevant reviews per listing are available in Yext, truncated to 150 characters each. This is a daily scan. If you would prefer to see the 3 most recent reviews instead, reach out to your Yext contact.

Review Response
Yelp MEC and Yelp Knowledge clients with access to Review Response can respond to reviews directly in the Yext platform. To use this feature, clients must:
- Have a Yelp Business Owner's account linked to Yext
- Use a corporate domain for the Yelp account
- Adhere to Yelp's review response guidelines
- Have claimed the listings on Yelp
Errors and Troubleshooting
Error: "Review response failed. The linked account user lacks sufficient permissions to respond to review."
Resolution: This error is typically caused by the location not being selected under the linked account setup in Yext. To resolve it, unlink and relink the account. During the relinking process, a dropdown will appear that allows you to select which locations to include under your Yelp account in Yext. Ensure all required locations are selected.
Review or Review Response Removal
There is no way to remove review responses through the Yelp API. If a client wants to remove their response, they must do so directly by logging into biz.yelp.com.
Removing an Inappropriate Review
The fastest way to get a review taken down is to flag it directly on the Yelp listing. Raising it to Yext should only be done in emergency situations. Flagging on the Yelp listing is still the fastest path to resolution.
For MEC clients, you can also refer to your Yelp Account Manager for help expediting the escalation process.
Restrictions for Exporting Reviews
Due to Yelp policies, Yelp reviews cannot be exported from the Yext platform. Full-text Yelp review data can only be viewed within Yext. Yelp reviews are not accessible:
- In exports from Review Monitoring or Review Response (they will be omitted from the resulting file)
- In email sharing or notifications
- Via API
- In Reviews App Directory integrations, such as Salesforce Service Cloud or Zendesk for Reviews
If there is a need for a one-time export that does not include review content, reach out to Yext for approval.
