This reference details how holiday hours are handled on Google, Facebook, Apple, Bing, and Yelp.

In general, Yext recommends adding holiday hours to locations at least seven days in advance. Holiday hours should not be used to communicate temporary closures.

Google

• Holiday hours can be added any amount of time in advance.
• Holiday hours are mapped from the Hours (Holiday Hours) field to Google's "special hours" field. This requires the Scheduled Content subscription feature in Yext.
• Holiday hours are expected to show 6 days before the date they are set for.
• Holiday hours are extremely important to Google. Google wants users to not only add modified hours on holidays, but also to confirm that their business hours are the same as regular hours on official holidays. The official list of holidays from Google by country can be viewed here.
• Not specifying holiday hours can cause orange text to appear on the listing suggesting the hours may be wrong on a holiday.
• Holiday hours and the Temporarily Closed flag are not supported for additional hours field types (e.g., drive-through hours, dine-in hours). Only primary holiday hours sync to Google.

Facebook

• Holiday hours can be added any time in advance.
• Holiday hours appear the week of the holiday.
• Holiday hours display in the regular "Hours" section.

Apple

• Holiday hours must be added at least 72 hours in advance of the holiday.
• Holiday hours appear the week of the holiday.
• Apple displays holiday hours in a separate section from regular hours. The dates of the week are noted above the holiday hours.

Bing

• Holiday hours can be added up to a year in advance.

• If holiday hours have not been explicitly added to an entity profile but there is a widely recognized holiday, Bing will add a banner that reads "[[HOLIDAY]], hours may vary."

  

• Bing displays the crossed-out original hours with the modified hours and "Special hours [[DATE]]" in green lettering.
• Closed days display the crossed-out original hours with "Closed [[DATE]]" in red lettering below.

Yelp

• Holiday hours can be added any time in advance of the holiday.
• Holiday hours appear the week of the holiday.
• Holiday hours are displayed as Special Hours.
