In-platform notifications provide real-time alerts for important account events, so you get timely updates without leaving Yext.
Access In-Platform Notifications
Click the bell icon in the lower right of the screen, from anywhere in Yext, to view your notifications. A red dot on the bell icon indicates one or more unseen, unread notifications.

The notification panel opens to the Unread tab by default. Toggle to the All tab to see everything.
View and Interact with Notifications
Clicking a notification opens a new tab to the corresponding page. For example, clicking a notification for a new review opens the Reviews tab, filtered to that review.
Each notification shows a timestamp and a name, matching the name assigned to it when the notification was created. You can see a table of all active notifications in Account Settings > Notifications.

Note: Users with the Account Manager or Full Control role can see and edit all notification profiles in the account. Other users can see and edit a notification only if they're its recipient or its creator.
Grouped Notifications
Yext groups notifications together for easier viewing, based on the internal name assigned to them in Account Settings. For example, if your business receives 10 new Reviews notifications tied to a notification named "Mid-Level Reviews," those group together. The group count appears in the top right corner of the corresponding product icon. Click a group to expand it and view each notification individually.

Understand Alerts
The red dot on the bell icon indicates one or more unseen, unread notifications.
"Seen" Notifications
A notification is "seen" as soon as you open the panel, whether or not you click the individual notification. After you open the panel, notifications inside it are considered seen, and the red dot on the bell icon disappears until a new notification arrives.
"Read" Notifications
A notification that's seen but not read no longer shows a red dot on the bell icon, but still shows one on the individual notification.

- To mark a single notification as read, click the red dot on it.
- To mark a group of notifications as read, collapse the group, then click the red dot on it.
- To mark every notification in the panel as read, click Mark all as read in the top right corner of the panel.
Empty States
If there are no unread notifications for a user within the last 30 days, the Unread tab shows an empty state. If there are no notifications at all for a user within the last 30 days, the All tab shows its own empty state.
Set Up In-Platform Notifications
Go to Account Settings > Notifications and click Add Custom Notification. After selecting the product area and notification content, choose In-Platform as the delivery method.
Notification Support for Event-Triggered Frequency
Yext supports the "Event Triggered" frequency for all notifications except the following:
- Analytics: not supported
- Knowledge Graph: Suggestion Updates > For Approvers > New & Pending
- Listings: Invalid Location Data Issues, Location Verification Issues, Publisher Credential Issues
- Platform: Usage Summary
