Post Library
The Post Library is a central library of approved, ready-to-publish social content that local teams can find and publish in a few clicks. Brand users build the library: they create posts in the existing publisher, target them to locations, and set expiration dates. Local users open a library post, and the publisher opens pre-filled with its content, ready to publish or schedule.
This keeps local posting on-brand and compliant while making it easier for locations to stay active, without HQ creating posts for every location by hand.
You can find the library under Social > Post Library.
Content Library Permissions
Access to the Post Library is controlled by three Social permissions, which you manage in Account Settings > Roles. Once you select to create or edit a role, navigate to the Social tab and scroll to the Content Library permissions.
| Permission | What it allows | Default setting for new roles |
|---|---|---|
| View Content Library | See and publish library content | On |
| Manage Content Library | Create and edit library content | Off |
| Expire | Expire library content | Off |
The built-in Full Access and Account Manager roles have all three permissions turned on. If you use custom roles, add Manage Content Library and Expire to the roles that should curate the library.
Users only see library content that is targeted to locations they have access to.
Create Post Library Content
Brand users create library posts using a similar publisher flow that is used for regular Social posts. See the Create and Edit a Post doc to learn more.
To create a library post:
- Click Social in the navigation bar and click Post Library.
- Click Create Post.
- Choose locations that the post will be available for using folders, entities, or labels.
- Note: Local users only see the post if they have access to a targeted location.
- Choose the networks the post can be published to. Only eligible networks are available.
- Add tags to make the post easier to search and find within the library (optional).
- Add the content for your post, including the caption and any images/videos.
- Set the content modification rules to control what local users can change before publishing. See the next section.
- Set an expiration date to retire content automatically. If you don't set an expiration date, the post stays available as evergreen content.
- Save the post to add it to the library.
Set Content Modification Rules
When you create library content, you decide what local users are allowed to change before they publish. Use the rules to choose how much local flexibility to allow, from fully locked, compliance-approved content to posts that locations can personalize.
| Rule | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Media | Locks images and videos, so local users can't add or swap them. |
| Caption and links | Locks the caption and hyperlinks together, including any fields connected to the caption. |
| Networks | Local users can never add networks beyond those you selected on the library post. This rule always applies. |
Manage Post Content Library
To update posts, brand users can select the ... icon in the top corner of each post. The actions that can be taken are:
-
Edit posts as needed.
- Note: Editing a library post does not update posts that were already published or scheduled from it.
- Duplicate a library post to reuse its content and settings as the starting point for a new one.
-
Expire a post manually. This requires the Expire permission.
- Expired content is hidden from the default library view. Old library content is not archived automatically, so review your library regularly and expire what is no longer needed. To see expired posts, filter the library by status.
Publish a Post from the Post Library
Local users and managers can publish approved content in a few clicks. You need the View Content Library permission, and you only see posts targeted to locations you have access to.
To publish a library post:
- Click Social in the navigation bar and click Post Library.
- Find the post you want to publish.
- Click the Publish button on the post. The publisher opens pre-filled with the post's content, including any images or videos.
- Review the post and make any changes your brand team allows. Anything locked by the content modification rules can't be changed, and you can't add networks beyond those selected on the library post.
- Publish the post now, or schedule it for a later date and time.
