Through the Yext platform, you can choose to send multiple invites to generate reviews from a larger audience, or a single invite to generate a review from a specific customer. You can also generate them outside of the Yext platform by using a Review Generation URL. If you prefer to do this using an SFTP, you see the steps in Add and Manage an SFTP Server Connection for Review Generation.
Note: A valid Review Generation Privacy Policy URL must be added to your account in order to send review invitations. For more information, see Add Review Generation Privacy Policy Link.
To send multiple review invites:
- Click Reviews in the navigation bar and click Generation.
- Click Send Invites.
- Click Upload File.
- Click on the Download Template link and fill in the relevant information. For more help with this, visit the next section of this article.
- Click on the Choose File button to upload your spreadsheet.
- Click Continue.
- Click on the Send Invites button.

Set up your spreadsheet
Required Columns
storeId or entityId
- Enter the Entity ID or Store ID for the relevant entities.
- To easily locate the correct ID, export your entity information.
firstName
- Enter the customer’s first name.
lastName
- Enter the customer's last name.
contact
- Enter the customer’s email address or phone number.
- Phone numbers must include a +, followed by the country code, and exclude any formatting (e.g. +15551235678).
Optional Columns
templateId
- This column only applies to email invites. Enter the template ID for the desired email layout, or leave this blank to use your default template.

To locate the Template ID:
- Click Reviews in the navigation bar and click Generation.
- Click Templates.
- Locate the Template ID below the desired template name.
distributionId
- Enter the Distribution ID for the desired distribution you would like to apply to the review invitations. Otherwise, leave this blank. To learn how to create a distribution, see Create a Review Distribution.

To locate the Distribution ID:
- Click Reviews in the navigation bar and click Generation.
- Click Templates.
- Click on the View Distributions link.
- Locate the Distribution ID below the desired distribution name.
transactionID
- Enter the transactionID for the transaction associated with the customer you are requesting a review from.

- This only applies to text message invites. Type the letter Y to include the business logo in the text message. Otherwise, leave this column blank.
labelIds
- Enter the Review Label ID to apply a review label. To add multiple review labels, separate the IDs by commas.

To locate the Review Label ID:
- Click Reviews in the navigation bar and click Generation.
- Click Send Invites.
- Click on the Show Label IDs link and locate the desired Label ID.
titleName
- Enter the title to address the recipient, e.g., 'Ms.', 'Mrs.', 'Mr.'.
language
- This only applies to default templates. Enter the ISO language code for the language you would like the review invitations to be translated to. If this field is left blank, invitations will be sent in English.
