Licenses are how Yext determines which subscription services (i.e., Listings, Reviews, Social, Pages) should apply to certain entities. You can remove licenses from entities in order to remove a Yext service and free up the license for use on another entity if you choose.

This article explains how to manually remove licenses from entities in Yext. For information on how to add services, see Assign Licenses to Entities. 

Select entities to remove services from

1. Click Knowledge Graph in the navigation bar and click Entities.
2. Select the checkboxes next to the entities you want to remove licenses from.
3. Click on the More Actions button and select Remove Services.
4. You will be brought to the Remove Services flow.
   • If you have selected multiple types of entities, the entity types of your selected entities will be listed. Remove the desired services from one entity type at a time by selecting the checkbox next to an entity type.
5. Licenses are managed via Subscriptions or Feature Packs, depending on the type of license. 
   • Subscriptions apply to these services: Listings, Event Listings, Pages, Reviews
   • Feature Packs apply to these services: Page Builder, First-Party Q&A

Follow the steps below, depending on which type of license you want to remove.

Subscriptions

1. Select the button next to Subscriptions and click Continue.
2. Provide additional information about the entities you are removing licenses from as prompted.
3. If you select the option to Select specific licenses to remove, select the checkboxes next to the licenses you would like to remove.
4. Select when you would like to remove services: Now or At a later date.
   • If you select At a later date, specify the date on which the services should be removed. Services will be removed between 12:00 - 2:00 AM ET on the selected date.
   • Listings licenses will be removed seven days after the selected date. If you would like your licenses removed sooner, reach out to Yext Support.
5. Click Continue.
6. Review the request.
7. Click Submit to submit your request.
   • Requests to remove licenses for more than 15 entities at a time are usually completed in one to three business days. You will receive confirmation from Yext once this request has been fulfilled.

To view your scheduled license updates after requesting, click the Account Details icon in the lower left of the navigation. Select Account Settings and click Scheduled License Updates.

Feature Packs

1. Select Feature Packs and click Continue.
2. Select Remove Feature Packs to remove an entire Feature Pack or Remove Features from Existing Feature Packs to turn off certain features.
3. Click Continue.
4. Select the Feature Packs you would like to remove or features you wish to turn off click and Continue.
5. Review the removals and click Process Changes. This brings you to a confirmation screen.
6. Click Return to Content.
