Duplicating existing Page Groups and Layouts allows you to accelerate content creation, reduce manual setup, and ensure design consistency across your site. These features are particularly useful when creating derivative pages, such as intent-based landing pages, without rebuilding configurations from scratch.
Duplicate a Page Group
When you duplicate a Page Group, the system clones the entire group configuration, including its associated layout and entity scope.
- Click Pages in the navigation, click on the site you want to edit, and then click Page Groups.
- Locate the Page Group you want to copy in the table.
- Click the vertical ellipsis icon at the end of the row and select Duplicate Page Group.
- In the configuration screen that appears, update the URL Path Template and Entity Scope to ensure they do not conflict with the original group. Edit any other settings.
- Review the cloned settings and click Create Page Group.
Duplicate a Layout
You can copy a specific Layout from one Page Group and paste it into another. This is useful when you want to reuse a design structure across different sets of entities.
- Click Pages in the navigation, click on the site you want to edit, and then click Page Groups.
- Locate the Page Group containing the layout you wish to copy in the table.
- Click the vertical ellipsis icon at the end of the row and click Edit Layout.
- Within the layout editor, click Copy Layout.
- Return to the Page Groups list and locate the target Page Group where you want to apply the design. Click Edit Layout.
- Within the layout editor, click Paste Layout.
- Note: Pasting a layout will overwrite any existing layout configuration in the target Page Group. Ensure you have backed up any necessary data before proceeding.
Best Practices for Duplication
- Audit Your Mappings: After duplicating, verify that all data mappings and fields correctly align with the entity type of the new Page Group.
- Update Metadata: Remember to refresh SEO metadata, such as Page Titles and Meta Descriptions, to reflect the unique content of the new group.
- Check Entity Filters: If your original Page Group used specific saved filters for its entity scope, ensure those filters are applicable to the new group or create new ones as needed.
