Edit your Search configuration in the Yext platform through the UI or through the JSON editor where you’ll edit the underlying JSON directly. The UI and JSON editor will always mirror each other and be in sync, except for some Search configuration features that are only available via the JSON editor (these are called out in training and in the Search Config Properties reference docs). Make sure to always save your edits before toggling between the UI and JSON formats.
- Click Search in the navigation bar and click on the desired Search experience.
- To edit the Search configuration via the UI:
- Click on the desired screen under the Configuration section in the navigation.
- Make your desired changes.
- Click Save at the bottom of the screen.
- The process of updating the configuration through the UI is interactive, so you will typically find yourself in a state of editing, scrolling, and saving. If you want to make changes on different configuration screens, save before navigating to the new screen.
- To edit the Search configuration via the JSON editor:
- Click Edit as JSON in the navigation bar. You will be presented with a full code editor.
- Make any edits. Find syntax for the different configuration properties in the Search Config Properties reference docs.
- Click Save at the bottom of the screen.
- Once you click Save, you’ve created a new configuration version.
