Dry runs allow you to run a data connector and view the results, without actually changing any of your entities. This is a good way to test new connectors to make sure they’re producing the right results before you make any changes to your data.
During a connector dry run, Yext will process all the data going through the connector, such as selectors, transforms, and mappings. Yext will then display the results as they would appear in your account, but no entities will be modified or created as a result.
Once a dry run is complete and you have viewed the results, you have the option to Approve or Abandon the dry run. If the dry run is approved, the results of the dry run will be applied to your account and your data will be modified.
You have one week to approve or abandon the dry run in your account once the dry run is completed. After one week, the dry run will automatically be abandoned, and no changes will be made. You can start a dry run on any connector in your account.
