Through the Yext platform, you can send invitations to customers to generate reviews. You can send these invitations using the pre-built email and SMS templates provided, or you can create your own email and SMS templates. This article shows you how to configure your own review generation templates.
Note: Review Generation is not available in every subscription. If you do not see this feature in your account, reach out to your Client Success Manager or contact Yext Support.
To configure a review generation template:
- Click Reviews in the navigation bar and click Generation.
- Click Templates.
- Create your template.
- Copy an existing template:
- Click on the three dots next to the desired template and select Duplicate from the drop-down menu. A dialog box appears.
- Create a new template:
- Click Add Custom Template at the bottom of the sidebar. A dialog box appears.
- Copy an existing template:
- Enter a template name in the textbox and click Add Template.
- Click on the new template in the sidebar.
- If you would like to automatically send follow-up review invitation emails, click on the Email Follow-up tab.
- Toggle on Enable Follow-up Emails.
- Set the maximum number of follow-up and the number of days before follow-up emails start.
- Then click Save.
- Click on the Edit Template button in the bottom right corner.
- This process differs depending on the type of template you are configuring. Follow the steps below accordingly:
- Email
- Click on the Edit Email Request, Edit Email Follow-up, and Edit Email Response tabs.
- Add your desired subject to the email subject text box.
- To add embedded fields to your subject, click on the plus sign () at the end of the text box and select your desired field from the drop-down menu.
- Enter the HTML in the source code editor.
- Click on the Edit Email Request, Edit Email Follow-up, and Edit Email Response tabs.
- SMS
- Click on the Edit Text Message Request tab.
- (Optional) Add a photo to your template
- Note: Including an image in your template will deduct an additional message from your account’s SMS message quota for each invitation.
- Add your desired message to the text box.
- To add embedded fields to your message, click on the plus sign () at the end of the text box and select your desired field from the drop-down menu.
- Click on the Edit Text Message Request tab.
- Email
- When you are finished, click Save.
