Visibility Actions are the specific improvements identified across your locations that you can take to strengthen your Visibility Score. Each action represents one possible improvement at one location. Actions are grouped by improvement type — such as "Get more reviews" — so you can address the same issue across multiple locations at once.
Visibility Actions are located on your Scout Home Screen.
How Actions are Created
An action is created when a location falls behind on one or more performance indicators. This happens when a location:
- Is missing data that follows an established SEO best practice, such as a phone number or business description
- Trails local competitors on a key metric, such as review count
- Falls below a research-backed benchmark, such as a review response rate below 50%
The number of locations on each action card reflects the unique locations that need a given improvement.
How to Use Visibility Actions
Actions are listed in priority order based on their potential impact on your Visibility Score. Work through them top-down for the highest probability of improvement.
To export a list of affected locations needing action: Select Download locations on any action card to export a list of affected locations, including entity ID, Yext ID, name, and address fields.
To see what's driving an action: Select What's driving these actions? on any action card to see the specific performance indicators that triggered the action and the count of impacted locations.
To view benchmark details by location: Select View location details on any action card under “What’s driving these actions” to review the benchmarks used to evaluate each location and see how each location performs relative to those benchmarks.
How to Resolve Your Actions
Each action card includes a link to the part of the platform where you can resolve it — for example, the Knowledge Graph, Reviews, Social, or Pages. If you have too many locations to address individually, use Download locations to export the affected entity informations. For CTAs like “Update entities”, export locations and make updates to fields directly to address actions in bulk. For CTAs like “Send review invitations”, “Respond to more reviews,” or “Update pages”, you can use the entity export to create filters in the platform and take action on the impacted locations.
Actions fall into two categories:
One-time fixes are actions triggered by missing data, such as a missing phone number or business hours. Once you add the missing information, the action should resolve after your next scan.
Ongoing actions are triggered by performance against a benchmark, such as review response rate or photo count. These require consistent effort over time. An ongoing action will only resolve once the location exceeds the benchmark across all related performance indicators, and may reappear if performance drops again.
Visibility Actions and your Visibility Score
Resolving actions does not guarantee an immediate change to your Visibility Score. Visibility improvements typically occur over time as search engines recognize updated signals. Consistently resolving actions — especially ongoing ones — is the best way to support long-term visibility improvement.
